How to Lay Roof Tile?

Posted By on March 1, 2013

While it is easier to lay your own roof tile than you might think, it still will take a lot of time and hard work. If you have just a small section of roof to be re-tiled, this may be a project you would like to undertake yourself. Larger projects should be left to a professional.

Instructions

1.Use the chisel to remove the grout around the roof tiles that need to be replaced.

2.Remove the roof tiles that need replacement. If they are held in place by adhesive, use your drill to break them into several pieces for easier removal.

3.Scrape away all debris and dirt with your metal scraper from the area where you removed the roof tiles.

4.Apply 1/8 of an inch of adhesive to the new roof tiles, leaving 1/2 inch on each side.

5.Press the roof tiles, adhesive side down into place one by one. Let dry for 24 hours.

6.Using grout that matches the grout of your roof, apply it to any gaps between your replacement roof tile.
