Guangdong Ceramic Export Decreased 15.6% This Year(4/8/2012)

Guangdong Province has long been China's largest ceramics production and export base and export of ceramics has been for many years maintained a rapid growth. However, according to Customs statistics show Guangdong export all kinds of ceramic products in January 2012 was $ 490 million, down 5.9 percent compared to last year, 97.8% for the general trade exports.

EU, ASEAN, Latin America and the United States is still the major export markets, the rapid growth in exports to India.

In January of this year, Guangdong's exports to the EU ceramics $ 80,010,000, a substantial decrease of 16.9%; of ASEAN, Latin America and the United States exports $ 64,280,000, $ 54,800,000 and $ 46,850,000, down 3.4%, 6% and 8% respectively.The four market exports together accounted for 50.4% of the same period in Guangdong gross exports of ceramic.In addition, exports to India of $ 23,940,000, a substantial increase of 33.5%.The private sector exports accounted for 7 percent.In January of this year, Guangdong's private sector exports of ceramic $ 350 million, down 4 percent, accounting for 72.6% of the same period in Guangdong gross exports of ceramic.In addition, foreign-invested enterprises exported $ 82.4 million, down 10.5 percent, accounting for 16.9%.Export enterprises in Guangdong, Foshan, Shenzhen and Chaozhou-based, the Foshan exports accounted for 40 percent.In January of this year, Foshan ceramics of export 200 million U.S. dollars, down 7.2 percent, accounting for 40% of the same period in Guangdong gross exports of ceramic.During the same period, Shenzhen exports $ 110 million, down 10.7%, 22.5%; the Chaozhou exports of $ 85.3 million, down 1.8%, accounting for 17.5%.
