2012 New Focus: Tile Consumer TOP30 of Russia.(1/4/2012)

Russia is the world's leading ceramic tile production, consumption and importer. Although during the period 2008-2009 suffered by the world economic crisis and there has been in the doldrums, however, the last two years, tile production, consumption in Russia was a certain growth and become a good momentum of development.

In 2009, the Russian ceramic industry general decline in the indicators. Ceramic tile production decreased by 20.4%; consumption decreased 27.3%; imports decreased by 44.8%, down a percentage ranks first in the world. Russia in 2010 tile production, consumption and imports have varying degrees of growth, although not back to pre-crisis levels, but signs of recovery and the momentum is obvious. According to the professional bodies to assess, in the next few years, Russia tile consumer market will grow 10% annually.

In 2010, Russia's ceramic tile production of 1.26 million square meters, ranking 13th in the world, compared with 2009 growth of 7.7%; tile consumption of 1.55 million square meters, ranking 11th in the world, compared with 11.7% in 2009; tiles imported the amount of 38 million square meters, up 27.5% over 2009. In addition, the 2010 European non-EU areas of tile consumption increased by 9.1%, of which Russia and Turkey, the recovery of consumption of ceramic tiles is the main engine of growth.

It is understood that, although Russia has abundant natural resources, Russia's domestic tile production and consumption can��t fully meet the domestic demand, about 25% of annual consumption of ceramic tiles to be imported from abroad. Among them, the need for well-developed technology for production of glazed tile, mainly from Italy, Spain and other countries imported, without the need for complex processes, used for flooring and wall finishes unglazed tile, the basic domestic production in Russia, or imported from China and CIS countries.
