Currently, in order to make ceramic molding, you must add organic polymer binder. Polyvinyl alcohol, methyl cellulose, acrylic acrylic resin, agar etc. The most common binder in the sintering process is fuel, as its decomposition products will be discharged carbon dioxide. In order to reduce environmental load, must reduce the amount of organic binder.

In order to achieve environmentally friendly ceramic production technology, AIST and the enterprise since the 15th year on have begun to put some money on their joint research. Specific research topics include reducing or non-use of organic adhesives technology, low-temperature sintering technology, and without sintering. Organic polymer binder is just past adsorbed on the surface of the particle material, or bonding is not tight enough, so the bonding strength between the particles of raw materials is not enough. In addition, because the organic binder polymer particles with the material surface affinity difference between the two are separated, it will partially coagulation, and thus on the organic binder is no effective role. So in order to achieve good molding characteristics, to ensure the retention characteristic shape after molding, it is necessary to add a lot of organic binder.
